Greetings from the heart of Houston, Texas! This week instead of talking about our programs, I thought it would be a great idea to introduce everyone to the LCI Educators who make the English Education possible.
When you are ready to take the step and move forward with studying in our Intensive English Program, you might need a Student Visa before coming to the United States of America. This is when you meet Susana Leniek. Susana specializes in assisting with Student Visa’s and can also help with a Change of Status if you are already in the USA.
Once you have gotten your Student Visa, you will meet with Bruna, our Education Coordinator. She will give you your Placement test, which lets us know what level you will be studying in for the duration of the term. The placement test consists of two parts: Half on the computer answering questions, and the other part is a listening and speaking portion with Bruna.
After you meet with Bruna, Amy in Student Services, will maintain your I-20, and provide any school records you might need. Amy also assists with enrolling local students who are already in the USA by transferring their records and I-20 to LCI. Student Services also provides a social calendar with activities for the study body to participate in. Any billing questions will be directed to Amy in Student Services.
We also have Alyssa Mayhew our Center Director. Alyssa oversees all operations and assists Bruna and Amy with daily procedures. Alyssa also offers a tour to those who walk through the LCI doors inquiring about classes and makes sure they leave with a clear understanding of how our programs work. Alyssa also has the final say in the termination of an I-20, as well as our teaching staff.
Our Teaching Staff are TESOL certified and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree along with some teachers having a master’s degree. Our teaching staff are all native to America and have been with LCI for several years.
Faculty, Administrators, and students are all treated as equals at LCI, and we firmly believe in a family environment at our school. If you are ready to study English in the USA, please, enroll with LCI today. Remember “The beautiful thing about learning, is no one can take it from you.” -B.B. King
